TAIPEI, Taiwan — The RIPE 2026 Biennial Conference is set to take place in Taipei from October 20 to 22. The event will kick off its first day (October 20)—designated as Practice Day—at Public Television Service (PTS) headquarters, followed by the second and third days (October 21–22) hosted at National Chengchi University (NCCU).

A key highlight of the opening day at PTS is the "TaiwanPlus Special Session: PSM in Asia, the Regional Context." This session will explore the international communication strategies and experiences of public service media (PSM) organizations across Asia.

The panel features six distinguished media leaders:

 * Aoki Yoshiyuki: Editor-in-Chief, NHK World-Japan (Japan)

 * Da-mi Kim: Chief Anchor, Arirang (South Korea)

 * Joana Paula "Jaypee" Victoriano: Special Projects Coordinator, People’s Television Network (Philippines)

 * Mamta Verma: Director General of DD News, Doordarshan (India)

 * Nadia Tsao: Deputy CEO and Editor-in-Chief, TaiwanPlus (Taiwan)

 * Wang Yin: Vice President of AI Strategy & Solutions, Mediacorp (Singapore)

Each participating organization brings a unique, highly representative voice to global broadcasting: NHK World-Japan stands as a premier international news channel, globally recognized for its accuracy and critical broadcasting support during the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Arirang, originally built around national tourism, embodies the modern soft power of state broadcasting. PTN exemplifies a postwar struggle for operational autonomy and mission fulfillment in a developing nation. India's DD serves as a public service anchor for the Global South, leveraging satellite tech to widen its reach. Mediacorp manages highly acclaimed international news channels renowned for modernization and cultural diversity. Finally, Taiwan PTS and its emerging international platform, TaiwanPlus, navigate complex geopolitics to revitalize Taiwan's international broadcasting footprint after two decades of public advocacy.

Drawing on their unique national frameworks, the panelists will engage in a high-level discussion on the key opportunities and challenges facing global outreach and public media communication today.
