College of Communication at National Chengchi University (NCCU) in Taiwan invites applications for full-time faculty positions. The College of Communication NCCU is the longest-standing communications school in Taiwan. Since its establishment in 1935, this college has always been the center of communication education and leads the nation in communication research and education. To date, NCCU’s College of Communication offers 3 departments, master / PhD programs, 1 joint program (Digital Content and Technology), 1 international master’s program (IMICS), 1 EMA program, 2 research centers, 1 Integration Experimental Center with 5 specialized program office. Additionally, CCNCCU offers over 48 full time faculty members, approximately 1400 current students.
With many Outstanding Research Award recipients, the college is constantly pushing the boundaries of communication research. For the past few decades, it has cultivated numerous leaders and professionals in various communication industries, both in Taiwan and in the greater Asia area. As a highly integrated institute, the college reviews and modifies its curriculum and educational policies regularly, which enables it to effectively adjust for the ever-changing communication environment.
The college invites applications for the position of assistant/associate/full professor of communication from candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: (1) Communication content design, (2) Convergent journalism, (3) Creativity / Creative studies, (4) Media innovative governance and policy, (5) Interactive narratives and performances, innovative new media production and services, and (6) Advanced research methods in communication.
Applicants should demonstrate a long-term commitment to excellence in research and teaching in the above-mentioned areas. A record of high-quality research, teaching, and professional experiences in related fields will be highly valued. The successful candidate will join a diverse group of faculty in various aspects of communication research and practices. The selected candidate is expected to play a major role in the advancement and development of the College of Communication.

Proposed courses: including Visual Communication Design, Still Image Design, Cross-media Integration Design, Creative Writing for Beginners, Mobile Device Design Thinking, Digital Design: composition and presentation, Audio-visual design in innovative marketing, Interaction design. Applicants are encouraged to create courses that help students to expand visions about communication content design.
|Area of interest: Convergent Journalism
Core specialties: We are especially interested in candidates who share a passion for reporting news using various of digital technologies, who can offer an innovative approach to teaching and learning, and can publish academic works in this area.
Proposed courses: including Convergent Journalism, Immersive Journalism, Interactive News Reporting, Digital News Gathering, Digital Storytelling. Applicants are encouraged to create courses that help students to expand visions about convergent journalism.

Core specialties: We are looking for candidates who are capable of integrating creative theory and creative thinking into teachings.

Core specialties: With the new technology, being able to analyze the media economy and industry, corporate organization impact, and related digital policy and law.
Proposed courses: including Media Innovation and Entrepreneurship, New Media Business Model, Media Venture and Management, Big Data and Media Marketing, New Media Curation, AI/digital Policy and Law. Applicants are encouraged to develop new courses that help students to expand vision about media innovation management and policy.
|Area of interest: Interactive Narratives and Performances, Innovative New Media Production and Services
Core specialties: We are looking for someone who can integrate narrative theories and performance practices, foster students’ storytelling ability for new media productions, and teach interactive transmedia content creation, or someone who are adept at cross-platform videos’ planning, production and management, and utilization of new media data for audience insights or content development and evaluation. The applicant ought to equip capabilities of researching and teaching in the aforementioned areas.
Proposed courses: including Imaginary and Interactive Narratives, Innovative Theater Performance and Design, Transmedia Content Creation, Web or Social Media Video Planning and Production, Social Video Marketing, Data-driven Content Development. Applicants are encouraged to develop new courses that help students to expand vision about theater, interactive narratives or innovative audiovisual media.
|Area of interest: Applied Research Methods in Communication
Core specialties: The candidate should be able to advance knowledge in communication area with one or a mixture of advanced quantitative / qualitative.
Proposed courses: Advanced quantitative method courses, including Multivariate Analysis, Time Series Analysis, Counterfactual Analysis, Mediation/ Moderation Analysis, Structural Equation Modeling, and Multilevel Modeling, or qualitative method courses, including Visual Methods, Narrative Analysis, and Grounded Theory.
